  1. Release of the Official Notification – this marks the start of the RRB recruitment process. The notification is released on the official website and mentions details regarding the exam dates, eligibility, syllabus and exam pattern, etc. Once the candidates are notified about the RRB notification they should carefully go through the notification for minute details before moving on to the further process.
  2. Application Form Filling –  the notification mentions the start and end date to submit the online application form for the exams. Candidates must fill all the details in the application form such as personal information, educational details, document uploading and contact information correctly backed by proof in support of the same.
  3. Release of the Admit Card – After the completion of online application form filling the admit card for respective RRB exam is released for the candidates whose application forms are accepted. Railway Admit card is a proof that a candidate has completed the formalities of registration and is eligible to appear for the exam. The admit card for the railway exams is released 10 to 15 days prior to the date of examination.

  1. Exam conducting day- conducting the examination is the most critical part. Candidates are required to be at the exam centre before the reporting time along with the admit card and necessary documents. Most railway exams are conducted in two stages CBT I and CBT II but for a few exams, there are other stages as well like Skill tests, Medical exam, Document verification and final selection. Once the examination is conducted, only then can candidates be shortlisted for the next phase of examination or for the final selection. 
  2. RRB Result Declaration – After clearing all the stages, CBTs, Skill tests, Medical exams, based on the overall performance of the candidate across the country, the Railway result is declared. The result, cut off marks and the qualifying marks are all published by the Railway Recruitment Board on the website of respective Regional RRBs. 
  3. Document Verification – Once the online examination and other stages are conducted, results are declared, then comes the document verification process. Whatever details are filled in the application form are checked to avoid any kind of discrepancy. The notification clearly mentions that any candidate who is unable to produce the proof of the details mentioned in the application form are subject to be disqualified. Candidates belonging to reserved categories need to provide their caste certificates during verification.
  4. Final Selection – The list of candidates entering the final selection is released after the competition of all the stages and verifications. Candidates who are able to score the minimum cut off marks as released by the conducting body are appointed for different posts for which they have applied.
