Takeru Uchida’s “Isekai Cheat Magician” Fantasy Light Novel Gets Anime Adaptation
Kodokawa announced today o April 16 that an anime adaptation of Takeru Uchida’s fantasy light novel series Isekai Cheat Majutsushi/Isekai Cheat Magician is now in the works. This is the third title from Shufunotomosha’s Hero Bunko imprint to have its anime adaptation, following Hisago Amazake-no’s Knight’s & Magic and Junpei Inuzuka’s Isekai Shokudou/Restaurant to Another World.
Isekai Cheat Majician was first posted on Japanese user-generated novel publishing website Shosetsuka ni Naro in April 2012, and its has been viewed over 60 million times so far. Hero Bunko started releasing its print edition in June 2013 and has released seven volumes. And its manga adaptation illustrated by Karin Suzuragi (Higurashi When They Cry) has been serialized in Kadokawa’s Monthly Shonen Ace since its February 2017 issue, and its latest third tankobon volume is set to be released on April 26. The total print run of the novel and manga series has reached 850,000
The story centers on high school boy named Taichi Nishimura who is transported to an another world.
He was just an ordinary boy, good at sports a little bit, in the real world. However, he learns that he is
an irregular existence with overwhelming magical power and physical ability in the another world. Then
he starts his adventures as “Cheat Magician.”
